Just stumbled across this fantastic little tool Flashbug. Features include Displays Trace, Read AMF/Remoting Request Data and Reads SharedObject. Very handy for working with the Drupal services module and flash with AMF requests.

So I just stumbled upon this awesome little script that allows you to dynamically tilt images with a small bit of javascript. Would have been really usefull in a recent site we did where we had to save two versions of every file since the design required listings of images with an alternating tilt on them.
Will be adding this one to my library.

Getting my hands dirty with Drupal 6 this week, its quite an awesome content publishing system. I’ll post more findings in a week or so once the storm has died down a bit.
Also released recently that I want to play with was the Google Maps API for Actionscript. This is something I can use in a few ideas I’ve been playing with.

I’ve just run into a small problem thats taken me a few hours to work out… The Debug Flash Player that gets installed with Flex Builder breaks the swfobject script used on many sites. This initially frustrated the hell out of me since the flash about page was reporting I had the latest version installed however many sites would not show flash content and tell me to upgrade. After a reasonable amount of googling I found a few others with this problem and suggested this fix. For anyone else that is having this problem – go to control panel and uninstall the Flash Player ActiveX control. You can then reinstall the regular version from the adobe site. If you however need the debug version I’m out of ideas. I’m happy to live without it.

Adobe have just announced Director 11 which by all counts I thought was dead and gone. Will be interesting to see how this integrates with Flash and what new features it brings to the table.

I just got home from the Brisbane Flash Users Group meeting. This is the first one I’ve been to and it was great to meet some of the local Brisbane people working with flash.
They gave us a run through on AIR which I’ve really been getting into lately. We even got free flash drives and a T-shirt. After just finishing a widget project which used MDM Zinc which was a total nightmare, AIR just feels like, excuse the pun, a breath of fresh air. I can’t wait to get stuck into our next project which we’ve decided is definately going with AIR. Apparently AIR 1.1 isn’t too far off either, which will include some of the features that didn’t make the 1.0 release.
ReadWriteWeb has a good article on some interesting AIR apps.
Brajeshwar.com has some more info on the AIR launch.

I don’t usually do much web surfing on my mobile but today I brought up google and there was a link to a Google Maps application to download. So I gave it a go and it works like a charm. It downloads a small java app to your phone and then just loads up the maps just like the desktop version. It even found my position and started the map where I was. One of the things I love about the iPhone is now on my trusty old K800i so until Apple bring the iPhone out in Australia this will be very useful!
